Welcome! Music is a universal language, and students will learn to "speak" that language better in many ways this year. We will sing, play instruments, compose and improvise, learn about reading and writing music notation, and listen. We will learn how music is related to history, literature, science, and other areas of study. We will also connect music with our bodies through dance and movement. The music program is based on the state standards for music education. Many skills are involved in becoming a musician, and each child learns those skills in a unique way. I am enjoying getting to know your children better, sharing my love of music with them, and watching their growth as musicians. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about your child's musical education. |
